Making Healthy Sandwiches by 1/2E

October15

After we had made the butter we used bread, cheese, grated carrot, sliced tomato and a lettuce leaf to make a delicious and healthy sandwich. We spread our butter on the slices of bread and then we took a huge bite of the sandwich. It was very yummy.

Making Butter – the Modern Way by Talar

October15

Lastly, we tried making butter from thickend cream and this time we used an electrical appliance called a electric mixer. This time it took 5 minutes with the electric mixer to make butter. When we finished, the butter looked like smashed bananas because it was yellow and it looked bumpty. We got to taste the butter and it was delicious.

We needed a quicker way to make butter so we added marbles to the glass jar for the 2nd try. This time we put two marbles  in and shook the jar it took seven minutes and thirty four seconds to make butter. This time it was less time and the butter we made was yellow, squishy and it had butter milk too.

Mont De Lancey Homestead Excursion – Giorgia

September10

Up in the hills where the mountains were was a  place called  Mont de Lancey. It is an old fashioned homestead from the 1860s. The  toilets  were  buckets and the newspapers were  toilet paper. I learnt that when  children  were  sick  they  had  to  sleep in  the  kitchen where it was warm near the fireplace.

Excursion to Mont De Lancey Homestead – Yusra

September9

In the house the bed has a  pillow and a blanket. In my house there’s a big bath and in the old house there was a metal bath in the kitchen and the kitchen was outside the house. The laundry was outside and so was the toilet. In the toilet there was no toilet paper, just newspaper. I didn’t like it. There was no taps in the house, they had to get water from a water pump.
